Join us at our Golden Era Recorded Music Project as we explore music LIVE ON LP RECORDS From the great ANALOG SPAN, 1948-1988
Tonight we begin with the very first symphony by HAYDN and the message from his boss, Prince Nicholas Esterhazy: “Franz J, your finale sounds like it should be at the beginning. Try to do something about this.”
We continue our exploration of music for the LICORICE STICK: Aaron Copland's CLARINET CONCERTO with BENNY GOODMAN, Mr. Copland conducting.
And the jazz touches in the concerto naturally lead to DUKE ELLINGTON and his COLUMBIA 6-EYE “PIANO IN THE BACKGROUND” album.
The great JAZZ/ROCK FUSION group OREGON will play a piece for sitar, 12 string guitar, English Horn, bass, tabla & piano (whew!).
PUCCINI'S almost unknown age 18 composition PRELUDIO SINFONICO has it all: passionate melody, a beautiful orchestra a great climax.
Our favorite SOUTH AMERICAN FOLK group, LOS CALCHAKIS will send everyone home dancing.
We send out a link for the Zoom meeting every Wednesday by email! Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.
See you all at 7 pm TONIGHT!
