TWO GREAT UNFINISHED SYMPHONIES: Schubert's & Mahler's TENTH.
Both Franz Schubert and Gustav Mahler died in the midst of creating their TENTH SYMPHONIES; Schubert in 1828 and Mahler in 1911. These unfinished manuscripts have been a source of mystery and wonder for music historians since the premature death of both composers.
We will tell the story of their symphonies and how their last musical thoughts were brought to life by amazing forensic musical research. Both Schubert and Mahler were on new paths leading them into uncharted musical territory when death intervened. Now we can hear where they were going.
FIBHORN GALLERY, 21 Thomson Ave, Glens Falls. 7-8 pm.
The event is free and open to the public. Tea, and refreshments will be served.
